The 3I/ATLAS Comet Event: Investigating Facts, Speculation, and Rumors

The comet known as 3I/ATLAS, discovered in July 2025 by the ATLAS survey, is the third confirmed interstellar object to pass through our Solar System. Unlike asteroids from our own system, it follows a hyperbolic trajectory. This is evidence it originated beyond our Sun’s influence. Observations from NASA, ESA, Hubble, and JWST confirm 3I/ATLAS is a natural comet, exhibiting classic features like a coma and tail caused by sublimating ices, and composed primarily of CO₂, H₂O, and dust. Scientists have emphasized that it poses no threat to Earth and is on a one-time outbound journey, reaching its closest approach to the Sun in late October 2025.

Despite the scientific consensus, Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb proposed a speculative hypothesis that 3I/ATLAS might be an alien spacecraft, citing its unusual orbital alignment, chemical composition, and the way it moves through the Solar System. While Loeb acknowledged the idea is unlikely and offered it as a thought experiment, his suggestion gained wide media traction and fueled public speculation. Loeb’s framing, (that the comet might be a disguised alien probe on a surveillance or even hostile mission), amplified concerns despite the lack of concrete evidence.

This speculation rapidly evolved into conspiracy theories and rumors, including claims that 3I/ATLAS was a “mothership,” a doomsday comet, or part of a government cover-up. Viral posts across social media falsely suggested the comet might strike Earth or secretly deploy alien technology. Clickbait media and sensational YouTube content distorted Loeb’s nuanced hypothesis into a confirmed narrative for alien contact, further freaking out and confusing everyone.

In response, NASA and astronomers globally have refuted these claims with evidence-based explanations. They confirmed the object’s purely gravitational path, its natural outgassing activity, and the lack of any non-gravitational accelerations or deliberate maneuvers. Observatories around the world have tracked its behavior meticulously, identifying no signs of artificial origin. Scientists agree its high CO₂ content and trajectory, while unusual, are still within the bounds of natural cosmic variation, especially for an interstellar comet that may have formed billions of years ago in a far-off planetary system.

The problem is that much of the public no longer trusts NASA or government narratives, in part due to the speculation surrounding Project Blue Beam. This unverified project came to light in the 90's when Serge Monast, a Canadian Journalist, claims to have been approached by various whistleblowers from NASA and other government agencies. Monast authored a few publications detailing the plan between NASA and the UN. This plan involved advanced holographic technology that would simulate a worldwide event, such as the Second Coming of Christ or an alien invasion, to manipulate and control the global population.

Interestingly, many remote viewers claim to have taken a peek at 3I themselves. I stumbled upon this video, which looks like it came from a Gaia interview.

The discussion begins with the claim that CERN has used its collider to open a portal for communication with extraterrestrial beings. It is stated that CERN possesses both a special room and technology specifically for this purpose. The beings contacted through the portal are identified as occupants from 3I Atlas, described as Draco Reptilians. The communication did not involve physical appearance; instead, the beings appeared as holographic projections and were described as tall. The beings communicated telepathically with every scientist present in the room at CERN. All scientists reportedly received the same message.

The extraterrestrial beings conveyed that they are coming in peace and intend to gather the starseeds of their planet. The conversation explores the intention behind this message, with some uncertainty about the exact motives of the Draco Reptilians. One participant describes being tasked by intelligence contacts to remote view the object known as 3I Atlas. During this remote viewing, they observed a mothership with Draco Reptilian occupants on board. The findings from the remote viewing are said to be corroborated by other remote viewers, including a known individual named John Vivenco and others from the Stargate program. These individuals also reported seeing a ship with Draco Reptilian occupants.

Ultimately, 3I/ATLAS is considered a scientifically exciting but entirely natural object (supposedly). It offers an exciting and rare chance to study material from another star system, not evidence of alien intelligence. The alien spacecraft theory, though popularized by a credible scientist, remains speculative and unsupported. Allegedly, 3I/ATLAS is not a threat or a harbinger. It's just a cosmic visitor from deep space, offering knowledge rather than danger. ...Or is it? You decide.
